Once upon a time we payed with combo and MLD (though none of us ever built STAX, though I played it a bit in Legacy when I played) and honestly, we enjoy games far more. I've bee playing EDH for about 10 years, I also have a power cube with all the combos, so trust me, we know what combos are like. IMO people who shun combo have never been on the piloting side of it to experience how good it feels to put two or more cards together and string a win We're never looking for creatures X and Y, and barely run any tutors, because another threat is often the better choice of what to run. edit sorry this wasn't meant as a reply to youġ) long games are the most fun for me, and others like them too (though I'm sure I like them the most) - It also rarely happens that a game lasts longer than an hour, but the two-three hours games have the most satisfying victories 2) our games are never same-y when we're not going for combos they way we win and to creatures and spells that get us there are different every time. If any player is free to abuse the graveyard, stupid things happen.

I suggest that both of you run more graveyard hate. Interestingly, both combos can be stopped by a well timed ], ] or ] activation. You can potentially win before Muldrotha even comes into play. Your combo is much faster than his, but you need other cards to tutor it out of your deck. Traumatize is a 5 CMC card, Labman a 3 CMC card that does nothing on its own and Keening Stone is a 6 CMC artifact with a in the pool, assuming the combo pieces are in your hand.
